ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL REPORTING

home

The primary purpose of the accounting division is to assist in fulfilling oversight responsibilities for the company to ensure integrity of financial statements and financial information such as compliance with legal and regulatory requirements; internal controls; accounting and financial report processes; audit completion and compliance; and data processing functions.

The accounting group provides the Administrator and Board of Trustees with monthly financial statements and analysis. It is the goal of the accounting division to provide management and the Board of Trustees with the information necessary to promote effective governance and guidance of FRSA-SIF.

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation is the regulatory agency primarily responsible for the financial regulation of FRSA-SIF. Annual, quarterly, and periodic statements are filed with the Office of Insurance Regulation as mandated. These statements are prepared by an independent Certified Public Accounting firm. The Ultimate Claims Liability for the Annual Statement is developed by an Independent Actuary.

A summary of the Audited Statement is provided to all members at the Annual Membership meeting. All financial information is available to any FRSA-SIF participant upon request by contacting Mike Ricker, the FRSA-SIF Controller,
